Happy Arbor Day!

Since today is Arbor Day (Mom told me -- I had no idea) we went to the Morton Arboretum. It was so fun! We went with Aunt Gwen, Sarah, and Hannah. At first the weather was a little rainy, but it turned out to be a beautiful day.
This is an overview of the Children's Garden. This is awesome! We have got to come back here sometime.
As soon as we got here Aunt Gwen and Hannah started playing peek-a-boo with me. It was funny to see them peeking through the colored glass.
When we found this cool tunnel, everyone was crawling through it. I didn't understand because I just walked right through it. I did that about 10 times.
This place is so fun. Hannah showed me how to get up here and I loved looking out at everyone.
Someone showed me a rock that I could throw into this pond. It made a big splash. Funny!
Hannah showed me this slide and everyone assumed I would go down carefully. I said, "throw caution to the wind" and went down head first. Not in this picture, but I really did it.
They had this really pretty flower that played music.

Sweet!

I had such a good time playing with Sarah and Hannah. They enjoyed chasing after me. Come on they know they did. I am a pretty interesting dude, you have to admit!

This is all of us together in the Children's Garden (except for Aunt Gwen -- she is taking the picture). I had so much fun climbing on everything!
Because it was Arbor Day we received a free tree. We had to put some dirt in the bottom of a pot.
Then we put our tree in and we filled it with more dirt. Mommy seemed to know what to do.
While mommy was bagging up our tree Hannah and Aunt Gwen had to stop me from eating the dirt. It looked so yummy.
Aunt Gwen let me touch the dirt and play with it. She lets me do all the cool stuff. But she still wouldn't let me eat it.
Okay, this was awesome. In the children's garden there was this super cool wading pond. Mom took off my clothes and Sarah took me on the stepping stones.
I really wanted to get in the water, but Sarah wouldn't let me.
Eeeewwwwww! This leaf that got stuck to my foot was super gross. I didn't want my foot to go back in the water until it was off, but shaking it just wasn't doing the trick!

Here I made a valiant attempt to get away from Sarah, but she was faster than I had anticipated. Oh well, maybe next time.

A Fun Weekend With Bobbie and Papa (a.k.a. Popeye)

Last weekend Papa and Bobbie came for a visit. Papa painted our front room and Bobbie and I had a fun time shopping and hanging out. On Saturday we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo and it was really fun! We saw lots of animals and I was totally worn out.Papa (I like to call him Popeye) took me for a ride on the carousel at the zoo. It was so fun. I loved it and smiled the whole time. Popeye and I were the only ones on the ride.

Bobbie and I had so much fun shopping in Naperville and hanging out. Here we are out, enjoying the warm weather. We shopped and played so much. I loved it!
When it was time for Bobbie to go I wasn't ready. I hung onto her leg and wouldn't let go. I was really sad, but mommy says we will be coming to Michigan soon so I will see her then.

I love my family!!

On Saturday night Hannah, Uncle Fred, and Aunt Gwen came over for dinner and a movie. We had such a good time. I love hanging out with them. One of the many reasons can be seen below. Hannah and I shared a brownie. We both had milk which she said was really important for me to drink with my brownie. Hannah sure knows a lot about eating brownies! Aunt Gwen snuggled with me and Uncle Fred was super cool and shared his tea with me.

This is Daddy's Uncle Jerry and Aunt Barb. They came to visit on Sunday afternoon. I did my usual thing and played shy for a few minutes, but I still had a good time seeing them. Uncle Jerry reminded me a lot of Papa Gies. By the time they left I was saying, "Bye" over and over. I am really good at saying that.

Is this what the pioneers used to cross the Great Plains?

Last week we went over to Aunt Gwen's house for some fun time. I had an awesome time! We went for a ride in Hannah's wagon that she let me use. I saw birds, doggies, and this super cool curb. Mommy said we came to Aunt Gwen's house and went swimming last summer but I don't remember. This year Aunt Gwen and Uncle Fred said I could come over and swing in my special baby swing and swim in their pool! I can't wait. Wagons are fun to play with. After a wonderful lunch Hannah, Sarah, Hadley, Aunt Gwen, Mommy, and I went for a walk. It was so nice outside and I loved being able to get in and out of wagon at my own will.

For a little while I pulled the wagon by myself. It was really light. I tried to get Hannah and Mommy to sit down, but they said I wouldn't be able to pull them. They have no idea how strong I really am!
After we were done, I wanted to go for a longer ride. I told whoever it was pulling me, more. That is what I am saying using my sign language.
We had a really good time visiting! Aunt Gwen made an awesome lunch and Hadley was very sweet. She had some cool toys that I performed some quality control tests on. They held up quite well.

Warm Weather Fun

The weather this weekend was awesome. Mom and Dad kept telling me that it was going to get warmer, but I didn't really believe them. On Sunday after church dad was doing some landscape work around the house. I had to jump in and help because I have a lot of experience in that area.Raking just happens to me my area of expertise.
Dad, what are you doing? I specifically said that you should edge at a 38 degree angle. I have to keep an eye on him.
After all that work I needed a break. We went for a walk to the park by our house. I loved running through the field. I love this weather!!!!
Aunt Jill showed me the lake by our house. It was very pretty and there were a few ducks there too. I know that this picture looks so sweet and innocent, but if you could see it from the front I was fighting Aunt Jill. I really wanted to jump in the water, but she wouldn't let me.
After I was refused a swim in the lake we went to the play area. I hadn't been here since early fall but I remembered what to do. I paused at the top of the slide for a minute then I decided to go for it!
Yeah!! Head first is totally the only way to go! I love this warm weather stuff!

The Cool Cat in the Hat (Its Me)

Today I helped mommy work on my room. Check out mommy and daddy's blog to see pictures of the finished product. I tore everything out and up while she painted. I thought I was very helpful. I entertained and cheered her up by wearing my Can in the Hat.
For this picture I actually said cheese.

Tonight Daddy did the greatest thing ever. He gave me a piece of chocolate cake. It was amazing. I totally loved it! Thanks dad; you are the best.
Milk with chocolate cake is very important.
Ahhhhh, true bliss. Mommy says this is the way she knows I am her son! I love chocolate.
