This Place is a Zoo!

After a wonderful vacation in Grand Haven, mommy and I headed off to Troy to visit Grandma and Grandpa Booth. I was feeling kind of yucky after a day of traveling so I really didn't want to be seen.
Mommy said she knew how I felt and that she felt like that some days too!
On Sunday after church, lunch, and a nice nap, I had some fun play time with Grandma on the porch. Don't you just love all the pretty flowers? Check out mom and dad's blog to see more garden pictures.
Grandpa let me sit on his motorcycle. I LOVE that! I can't say Grandpa yet so I live to call him, "Brrrroooom, brrrrooom."
On Monday we all went to the zoo. It was so much fun. This is a hippo that she used to play on when she was little. She had to get a picture of me with it. (I hate when she gets all nostalgic like that!)
In the bird house there are birds everywhere. They were even on the sidewalk where we were walking. It was awesome! Here I am trying to walk like a bird.
Another photo opportunity. I am always up for the challenge though. I really like seeing the turtles swimming around in with the crocodiles.
These are camels. They say pooooooh! That is what my mom says. (Because they spit.) If you ask me about them I will tell you all about it.
It was fun hearing Grandma and Grandpa telling me about how they went to this zoo when they were little too. More nostalgia, but I guess that is okay.
I had to check out the fountain a little better. If only I could get closer!
This was also a really cool animal. The rhinoceros was awesome. Some of the animals were sleeping because it was very hot, but these guys got up and were walking around.
At the Detroit Zoo there are peacocks running around all over. Some of the big kids were too afraid to chase them, but I was not at all. I was cracking up at the way their heads bobbed when they walked.
I chased them all over, but I was never able to catch them.
I loved the giraffe's long necks. I tried telling mommy that they said, "Woof, woof, woof," but she said they didn't. So apparently she is the giraffe expert, whatever.
At the giraffe area I found true love. This little Mexican girl appeared and I knew we were meant to be together. As soon as a saw her I ran up to her and gave her a hug and kiss. Of course, she loved me back and we walked hand and hand away. Alas, it was not meant to be.
This was the entrance to the arctic experience. It was beautiful and cool. Polar bears are pretty but kind of scary too!
My Grandpa was going to take a picture of the tank and just then a polar bear jumped in the water. It was totally awesome! I was so glad he and I weren't on the same side of the glass.
The bear started walking on the glass tunnel.
Mommy held me and we checked out the bear. All the other people were checking it out too.
The zoo guy said the bear's paw was the size of a dinner plate. I sure loved my trip to the zoo! It was super fun. I love spending time with my mommy and Grandma and Grandpa!!
